The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 2 'Infected' witnessed a 13 percent drop from the premiere which saw 16.1 million people tune in. You know your show is doing well when 13.9 million viewers is a drop in ratings.

Regardless of the 2 million viewer descent, 'Infected' is the second highest rated episode for the series ever. The Walking Dead smashed all other cable and network competition except for NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

Lots of live viewers may have been pinched by Sunday Night Football, but it hardly seems like a stumbling block for the unstoppable hordes of The Walking Dead. Season premieres, too, tend to see a boost that later weeks don't match, so I wouldn't say it's cause for any concern for AMC as yet. Are you loving the new season of The Walking Dead? Episode 3, 'Isolation', airs this Sunday.
