TV's number one series, The Walking Dead, is currently on its winter hiatus and even the most critical fans cannot deny that they are eagerly awaiting the return of AMC's hit series. The second half of the seventh season returns in a month on Sunday, February 12. Until then, our Sunday nights won't be the same without our favorite zombie show. Today, AMC has released some information to hold us over until February.

AMC Releases New Synopsis & Images For The Walking Dead Season 7-B

AMC released the official synopsis and three new images from the highly anticipated second half of The Walking Dead Season 7. The first image is picture above, which features a sweaty Rick who looks very exhausted and confused with his arms resting on his hips. He is standing on a highway, suggesting that Rick and the rest of his group may be traveling with the goal of finding other groups.

The synopsis for Season 7-B reads:

The first half of Season 7 saw Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and the group broken by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), forced to fall under his will and brutally convinced to live under his rules. The second half of the season will focus on preparing for war and gathering the supplies and numbers to take Negan down once and for all.

Rick’s group will find out yet again that the world isn’t what they thought it was. It’s much bigger than anything they’ve seen so far. While they have a singular purpose - to defeat Negan - it won’t come easy. More importantly, victory will require more than Alexandria. They need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but, similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Gregory (Xander Berkeley)do not want bloodshed. To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable.

We’ll meet new survivors in incredible places. We’ll see Rick and the group tested in ways we’ve never seen before. We'll see treachery from people we trust. Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan. But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army.

This description alone gets me very excited for what the rest of Season 7 has in stores for us. Like we saw at the end of the mid-season finale, Rick's group is finished with Negan and is ready to rebel against him, but they know they cannot do it alone. Like the description states, they will come to an agreement among themselves, the Kingdom, and the Hilltop.

The description also tells us that the show will focus on how hard the survivors will work to defeat Negan and by the sounds of it, it appears we will see them commit some questionable acts. It's definitely going to be difficult for them and as much as this storyline could drag out, it is all leading up to the epic "All-Out War."

The second image shows Rick's group discussing their next move in Gregory's house in the Hilltop. The picture features the group we saw at the end of the mid-season finale — Enid, Michonne, Jesus, Carl, Sasha, Maggie, Rick, Daryl, Tara, and Rosita. It doesn't look like this takes place long after we last saw our characters, so it seems the story will most likely pick up right where we left off.

Lastly, our third image shows Rick, Michonne, Aaron, Tara, and Rosita walking through a field with very long grass and in the background you can see some houses and power cables. Rick is holding up his iconic Python pistol and Aaron is holding a knife, meaning that this scene could have these four survivors sneaking up on another group. The synopsis did tell us that we were going to meet some new characters this season — perhaps the spy revealed at the end of the mid-season finale could belong to the group Rick's spying on in this picture.

The Walking Dead returns Sunday, February 12 on AMC.
