It may be a hard task to survive in a zombie-infested world, but it's also fairly difficult to get a TV series to reach the 100 episode milestone — and that's exactly what AMC's The Walking Dead has done.

After seven full seasons of watching a bunch of apocalypse survivors take down threat after threat, the Season 8 premiere of The Walking Dead will mark the show's 100th episode, and are all about showing thanks to those that got it there — the fans.

In a recently released promo video, AMC have remixed some of the scenes that already featured in the Season 8 trailer released back at San Diego Comic-Con, and added in a major thanks to the fans for getting the series to its centenary. Check it out below:

While there's no confirmation that the clips used in the promo video have come from Season 8 premiere (a.k.a the 100th episode), it's still a tantalizing hint of what's to come. Over the course of just 25 seconds the promo clip shows Daryl setting off explosions, Maggie ready to fight, Morgan and Jesus either training or at odds, Enid ready to defend her home, Rick brawling, and both Michonne and Ezekiel (and some other Kingdommers) firing weapons.

But whatever we see in that Season 8 premiere there's no doubt it's going to be awesome. The Walking Dead showrunner, Scott Gimple, told EW that the 100th episode will be "massively heavy on the action," and also teased that it will probably be different than anything fans have seen before. New awesome action scenes? Yep, we can live with that!

The Walking Dead's 100th episode is almost certainly going to be a powerful episode full of memorable events. There's even rumors that it will be full of references to other notable moments from throughout the series: The trailer showed Carol looking at a graffiti flower — referencing when she told Lizzie to "look at the flowers" — and Carl searching abandoned cars like his parents did in the premieres of Season 1 and 2.

The The Walking Dead's social media accounts have also been unleashing the nostalgic feels since the start of August, sharing iconic moments from throughout the series, character posters and even posting quizzes for die-hard fans to prove their knowledge.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC with Season 8 on October 22.

What iconic Walking Dead moments would you like to see referenced in the Season 8 premiere?
