With the recent success of The Lego Batman Movie, there are a lot of fans who'd love to see even more of our favorite #DC superheroes in that lovable plastic-brick form. Thankfully, a sequel to the totally awesome box-office hit The Lego Movie is heading our way in 2019 to tide us over, but the superheroes of the #Marvel Universe deserve their chance to shine in the #Lego spotlight as well.
A slate of Lego Marvel movies could take the iconic characters' box-office success to a whole new level. After all, the #MCU is currently the highest grossing movie franchise of all time.
Plus, it would be, dare I say it, awesome!
(Cue the the soundtrack below.)
Yes, it would be a geektastic combination and these are the five properties that would be the perfect picks to build Phase 1 of the Lego Marvel movie franchise.
Back in the early 1990's, the #Xmen had one of the most popular and successful animated TV shows around. The attention to detail in that time period was absolutely fantastic. Not only that, but the show remained extremely faithful to some of the biggest X-Men stories, like Days of Future Past, Weapon X, and even the Phoenix Saga, which is one of the biggest reason the show continues to hold a special place in the hearts of fans.
Now, if you were to take the greatness that was X-Men: The Animated Series, and combine it with the greatness of The Lego Movie, then you have yourself a movie of epic proportions! Lego is known for being colorful in almost every aspect, and the X-Men are one of the most colorful superhero teams in the Marvel Universe. They're tailor-made for a Lego movie of their own.
From their first movie that was shot, edited, and advertised, then scrapped completely, to the most recent adaptation in 2015, Marvel's First Family can't seem to catch a break. But if they were to get a Lego movie, maybe it could be the start of their redemption.
The heart of the #FantasticFour has been the family values that they have. (After all, they are called Marvel's First Family.) Luckily, one of the big themes throughout Lego Batman Movie was the importance of family. If Lego were to approach this property with the same care, it would be exactly the kind of FF film we've been waiting for.

Iron Man has a sense of humor that appeals to children and adults and his creations are impressive. Those two reasons alone are exactly why he'd be a perfect choice for a Lego movie.
The whole idea of The Lego Movie was building whatever you want, and not following the instructions, and the humor of the movie only added to that. So why not apply this to #IronMan?
Plus, just think about how cool it would be to see all those Iron Man suits in Lego form! The possibilities for suits are endless from the Mark 5 "suitcase suit" to the ginormous Hulk-Buster suit.
The only thing that would make this movie a sweeter treat would be if Robert Downey Jr. himself voiced the role.
The Deadpool feature film was the breath of fresh air the superhero genre needed and a Lego movie starring the Merc With A Mouth would be unlike anything we've seen before.
Much like Iron Man, Deadpool is one of the funniest characters in the #MCU. Most of his humor is inappropriate for children, but there have been instances in which he's made exceptions. The biggest one being him in Lego Marvel Superheroes video game. His appearance in that showed that Deadpool can be family-friendly and edgy.
Plus, one of Deadpool's biggest gimmicks is his habit of breaking the fourth wall and talking directly to the audience.
Throw Ryan Reynolds into the mix as the voice of Deadpool and you've got a guaranteed hilarious hit.
When it comes to being family-friendly, you can't get much better than Spider-Man. Being the snarky teenager that he is, he's also one of the funniest superheroes in the Marvel Universe.
One of the other big things that defines Spider-Man is his villains. From the well-known big-bads like Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus to the lesser known evil-doers like Hydro-Man and Tinkerer, his collection of villains is like no other.
An entertaining aspect of the Lego Batman Movie was the impressive number of unexpected baddies that made appearances and the same idea would make a Lego Spider-Man movie swing off the screen.
