Throughout these last couple of months, more and more news has come out regarding #AvengersInfinityWar. Whether they were casting announcements, or the start of production, we've been able to witness one of the most anticipated events in movie history come together.
And it turns out Marvel was just teasing us with all of that information for a big reveal, as the House of Ideas has given us our first official look at Infinity War through Twitter. Check it out:
As you can imagine the video gives us plenty of details and insight into what we can expect from the film, so let's get into the most important ones:
1. Tony Stark, Peter Quill And Peter Parker Share A Scene In The Film
We finally get to see Tony Stark, Peter Quill and Peter Parker together. Given that #RobertDowneyJr is wearing his Iron Man under armor, #TomHolland has mocap dots on his wrists (presumably for his webbing), and #ChrisPratt is in costume, pretty much confirms these three wisecrackers will share a scene at some point in the movie. It's hard to make out whether they're filming a scene on Earth or in outer space but going by this picture, it's likely they are on our beloved, constantly-endangered planet...which kind of appears to be reduced to rubble:
I think it's safe to say we should expect a quip-full scene with these three sharing screen time.
2. The Winter Soldier And Falcon Will Be Joining The Avengers' Cosmic War
Being the culmination of the #MCU, it's not hard to guess that almost, if not, every character that's been presented in the franchise so far will make an appearance in Infinity War. But now we have confirmation on the addition of two integral characters: Falcon and Winter Soldier.
In the video we can see a wall with cards showcasing four characters: Rocket Raccoon, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier and Falcon. While we knew about the former two taking part in the galactic battle already, we had no idea whether or not Falcon or Winter Soldier would appear; fortunately, now we know. That makes me think of something: Bucky was frozen in Wakanda at the end of Civil War, so could we see him be reintroduced in #BlackPanther to not have to deal with him coming back to life in Infinity War?
3. Tony Stark Is Preparing For Thanos' Arrival
In Avengers, Tony Stark was the only person in the film who actually got a look at the kind of danger that was coming to Earth. This insight left him traumatized and caused him to build an army of robots (which resulted in Ultron) to protect the world from any type of new threat. In the video, it's revealed that #TheAvengers have completely disbanded and the Earth is vulnerable. And according to the Russo Brothers, our favorite billionaire playboy is the one preparing for Thanos' arrival:
"Tony senses this greater threat approaching and so he is doing everything in his power to keep the Earth safe."
And to do that, it seems he returned to creating multiple Mark suits to be in several places at once (as shown in the piece of concept art above). But from the more advanced design of the armors, it's evident Tony is trying not to step on murderous A.I. territory again.
4. Thor Is No Longer Holding Mjölnir
This was the most shocking bit of info. As you can see in the concept art above, we got our first look at a member of the #GuardiansoftheGalaxy alongside an Avenger in Rocket Raccoon and Thor respectively. However, the most surprising aspect of this new image is the fact that Thor is not holding Mjölnir; instead, he appears to be using some kind of sword that aesthetically resembles his weapon of choice. Could it even be the battle axe he wielded in the comics when he went by the moniker of 'The Odinson' in The Unworthy Thor?
Thanks to details released from Thor: Ragnarok, we know the God of Thunder will find himself without his trusty magical hammer, stranded in Battle World. But we all assumed he would be getting his weapon back at some point in the film. That however, is not the case. What happened to Mjölnir? Was it destroyed while Thor was stopping Ragnarok? Is someone else wielding it? Could Beta Ray Bill be making his live-action debut in Infinity War?
Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4 Will Indeed Comprise A Two-Part Event
The Russos revealed during an interview that the "Part" in the Infinity War titles was a bit misleading, as they are two separate films. Then, in 2016, Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 was officially retitled as Untitled Avengers. Despite this, the two films are currently filming concurrently, so we know there's a strong connection between their respective storylines. But the Russos mentioned something in the video that pretty much confirms the two films will cover the same event:
"Because of what Marvel is, because of what they have done over the last ten years, these next two Avengers films will be an event like no one has ever seen on film before."
This contradicting statements might be confusing, but if we think about it, it could still be the case that Avengers 4 is a standalone story that deals with the aftermath of #InfinityWar. One thing's for sure though: Infinity War will be quite the spectacle.

There you have it. That's everything new this amazing little video showed us. Unfortunately that's all we have from the film right now. However, even though the film is still over a year away, we will most likely keep getting more insight into it as May 4, 2018 gets closer.
