Now, if there's one thing that Michael Bay is famous for, it's explosions. If there were two things, they'd likely be explosions and larger, louder, more gratuitous explosions. If there were three, then — well, you get the idea. As it turns out, though, Bay also has a far softer, less explosion-themed side, too — one that recently found expression on the set of the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight. Y'see, while shooting the movie (the fifth in the burgeoning Transformers franchise), Bay found out about "the world's loneliest dog," a shelter-dwelling pup named Freya, who had reportedly been snubbed for adoption 18,000 times.

And, because explosions can't warm anyone's heart all of the time, Bay immediately decided to cast her in his new movie. Yup, that's right:

Freya The Dog Is The Real Star Of Transformers: The Last Knight

Indeed, as the video above seemingly proves, Freya is set to steal the movie out from under Sir Anthony Hopkins's nose. This will in turn hopefully prompt a vengeful Sir Tony to seek to regain his lofty position of respect from Freya, who will be forced to (with the help of a lovable scamp, perhaps played by Room's Jacob Tremblay) foil his evil scheme through a series of zany hijinks, at which point hilarity will presumably ensue.

Or, y'know, Freya will appear in a few shots in Transformers: The Last Knight as Hopkins's character's pet, and then be allowed to peacefully retire with her new owner, thus avoiding the heartbreak of the Hollywood casting process, and the strains of a full promotional schedule.

And, honestly, what more can any of us ask for than that? Other than for the new Transformers movie to feature a large number of explosions, of course.

Want yet more on Transformers: The Last Knight? Never fear, we've got you covered right here.

And, in the meantime, what do you think? Do you think Freya will successfully foil that dastardly Anthony Hopkins's evil scheme to sell the world's dog biscuit supply to the Decepticons? Let us know below!
