Back in September, when the first short teasers for 's live-action adaptation of hit the web, I edited those clips together into a more traditional format. Using music from the 1995 animated film's soundtrack, I did my best to appease fans of Mamoru Oshii's timeless classic by cutting together a that captured the essence of what made the original film so brilliant. Fortunately, the response to my fan edit was amazing!

Now that we've got our first full trailer for Ghost in the Shell, I just had to make another alternate cut with the new footage. For the cue, I replaced Ki:Theory's cover of "Enjoy the Silence" by Depeche Mode with a medley of tracks mixed together from Kenji Kawai's original score for Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence.

The first 40 seconds or so of my alternate trailer cut remains largely the same, with as The Major leaping off the building and being a badass, but I heavily edited everything after that brief sequence in an attempt to evoke the enigmatic and epic tone of Kenji Kawai's eerily beautiful music. You can watch my alternate cut of the official trailer below. Hope you enjoy!
