Now, if you're ever looking for proof that the internet is a weird and wonderful thing — and the steady stream of evidence to that effect isn't enough for you for some reason — then consider this: The interweb now contains more than one woman famous for wearing a mask for comedic effect.

That's right. Gone are the days of huddling together for fragile, flickering warmth in the solitary glow of original "Chewbacca Mom" Candace Payne's online antics. We can now take comfort in knowing that, were we to so choose, we could giggle uncontrollably at the sight of an entirely different woman wearing a -themed Wookiee mask during an important life event. And so, without further ado:

Here's A Video Of A New Mom Wearing A Chewbacca Mask While Giving Birth

Which, yes, is indeed both extremely entertaining, and mildly disturbing. Thankfully, the star of the video was very much in on the joke, with first-time parent Katie Curtis recently having revealed to Us Weekly that:

"Toward the end of my pregnancy, my brother got me the mask as a joke, hoping I would laugh my way into labor!"

Now, that may not have quite worked out (Chewbacca masks are good for many things, but inducing labor is apparently not one of them), however, it seems that the mask provided Curtis with a whole lot of entertainment all the same. Indeed, as she wrote on the initial viral post over on Facebook:

"Just because I’m about to be a mom doesn’t mean I have to grow up! ."

Which, in fairness, is exactly the sort of intensely serious whimsy that Chewbacca himself would be proud of. Nicely played, Ms Curtis. Nicely played.

What do you think, though? Are there any major life events that you'd like to go through while wearing a Chewbacca mask? Let us know below!
