The guys lucky enough to have scored a place inside Hall H at Comic-Con on Saturday were suitably rewarded for their loyalty and dedication. Not only were they treated to some new footage of Thor: The Dark World, but a certain god of mischief also made an appearance, bringing those in attendance literally to their knees.
Before the footage was shown Loki worked the crowd demanding them to say his name and it was obvious he was loving every minute of it as a mischievous grin danced across his lips.
Check out the clip below:
The Guardian managed catch a glimpse of the Thor 2 footage and reported that the superhero sequel "promises far more fantasy than the first movie as the god of thunder brokers an uneasy peace with his mischievous half-brother Loki and battles all manner of supernatural foes."
IGN was also in attendance and they have a much more detailed description of what went down in the Thor 2 footage.
Word of warning: There be spoilers this way so proceed with caution.
It opens with a battle on Asgard between Thor, the Warriors Three, and Sif against the Dark Elves. Thor and Sif have a flirty repartee going during the battle, which ends with Thor taking on a rock monster from Journey Into Mystery #83, Thor's debut issue. We then see the carnage being wrought on Earth by Malekith's ships. Thor rescues Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and takes her to Asgard, where we get a reversal of the fish out of water story of the first film.
Thor then goes for help from an unlikely ally, his imprisoned brother Loki. But can Loki be trusted? What do you think?! In a moment of Loki truly being Loki and humbling his brother Thor, Loki appears to give Thor the full Jamie Lannister treatment. The clip cut to black but it sounded and looked a lot like ... Loki cut off Thor's hand!
The Thor 2 footage sounds seriously cool and it's good to see Loki back to his villainous best.
What do you guys think about the Thor: The Dark World? Is the movie going to blow us all away?
