To this point, concrete details on the upcoming have been scarce to say the least. We have received trailers for Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming, yet all we know about Ragnarok is that Hulk will appear alongside Chris Hemsworth's Prince of Asgard and that Planet Hulk's Miek is set to make an appearance. Other than these and a few other details, we don't know much. You know, outside of where Thor was during :

Due to Hulk and Miek's appearance, fans have long speculated that Planet Hulk will be adapted within Thor: Ragnarok, but we have had no official confirmation from — that is until now. In the latest issue of Total Film - captured by the MCU Exchange - director Taika Waititi confirmed that we will be visiting the planet Sakaar in Thor: Ragnarok:

Sakaar was just an insane, far-off, futuristic place which was the biggest shift for the film and these characters…I was really excited when Kevin [Feige] and the rest of Marvel jumped on board with the idea to use [Jack] Kirby as a big influence in the design of the film. What’s really hard is staying authentic.

The article confirms that Thor will re-unite with on Sakaar after Hulk has made a name for himself by becoming a Gladiator. This all but confirms that Thor: Ragnarok will indeed adapt the acclaimed Planet Hulk storyline, news that is sure to excite fans of the story arc.

Fans of the Planet Hulk storyline will know Sakaar as the planet that Hulk crash lands on after The Illuminati deem him too dangerous to remain on Earth. Injured from the crash, Hulk is captured and forced to fight in gladiatorial battles for the planet's emperor, The Red King. This isn't the first time Sakaar has been involved in the as Ronan The Accuser's followers in Guardians of the Galaxy were Sakaarians.

With the inclusion of Sakaar, Miek and a Gladiator Hulk, do you think Thor: Ragnarok will be adapting into the MCU? If so, what else would you like to see them include? Is it too much to ask for a possible World War Hulk film down the line after Marvel wraps up Phase 3?
