It looks like has just cruised (sorry, couldn't resist) his way into another movie franchise. The Mission: Impossible and Jack Reacher star is being tentatively eyed for Warner Bros' upcoming The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

Deadline is reporting that Cruise is currently in early talks to head the film which will be directed by Sherlock Holmes helmer . The Man From U.N.C.L.E. started life as a TV series back in the 1960s. It followed the weekly exploits of United Network Command for Law Enforcement agents Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin in their fight against the evil forces of THRUSH (cue immature snickering).

Warner Bros has long wanted to revive the classic spy thriller. Originally was attached to direct, with acting in the lead role. However, Clooney dropped out due to back and neck problems which meant he was unable to take on the strenuous role. Soon after Soderbergh also left the project, leaving it to be handed over to Ritchie.

If the talks are successful, this will another notch on Cruise's upcoming film belt. He will reprise the role of Ethan Hunt in another Mission: Impossible movie, while Jack Reacher is also being rumored for a sequel. Add to this the soon to be released Oblivion, and the currently in-production Edge of Tomorrow, and that means we have a whole load of Cruise coming our way.

Are you glad too see Cruise nabbing even more leading roles? Let us know below.
