Travis Fimmel's reign as King of Denmark has come to an end after four seasons of #Vikings. Following the death of his character Ragnar Lothbrok, Fimmel bid a permanent farewell to Kattegat and his Viking family. But will the Australian actor be able to maintain the same success in his future roles?
Fimmel set his highly successful modeling career aside to focus on acting years ago, though the films and shows he's starred in have received generally average or even negative reviews. He co-starred alongside Patrick Swayze in in The Beast, which was commended by critics but cancelled mid-production after Swayze's death.
Things started to look up when he found himself praised for his performance in Vikings, with creator Michael Hirst even deciding not to kill off his character in the first season due to how well audiences responded to him. But his most recent role as Anduin Lothar in the film adaptation of iconic MMORPG Warcraft saw Fimmel starring in yet another badly received movie, with considerably terrible reviews.
Can He Break The Curse?
Granted, Fimmel can't be solely blamed for his films' lack of success. As much as his depiction of the great Ragnar Lothbrok has been highly praised, there's only so much that great acting can do to help a script with an average narrative.
Will he be able to carry his next projects, or will his talent go unnoticed against even more dull scripts? Check out Travis Fimmel's next three projects and judge for yourself:
