Joe Manganiello has revealed his struggles with alcoholism in a shockingly candid interview with Huffpost Celebrity. The star who plays Alcide in the smash hit TV series True Blood admitted that life was once a far cry from the fame and glamour he enjoys today. The actor told the website that;
There was a period of about four years where I needed to quit drinking. And the drinking got in the way of my career
went even further to say that;
My life was ruined. I was homeless, careless and broke with no career
The 6-foot-5 hunk must have been in a confessional mood because he also chose to divulge that he was not always the beef cake he is today. Manganiello was, in fact, bullied at school thanks to his exceptionally skinny frame.
Its not all bad news though, he credits the pressure he felt as a youngster with giving him the drive and strength he needed to become the star that he is today. Such brave admissions show us that is not just Manganiello's physique that is all man.
