The vampires and werewolves are headed back to Bon Temps this summer, and they're cranking up the intensity.
Shortly after True Blood star 's announcement that the show is about to get "pretty wild", new showrunner and co-executive producer Mark Hudis has revealed that he'll be shaking up Season 6.
Hudis teased a good deal to his former Haverford College. The following is an excerpt from their Fall 2012 magazine, courtesy of Wetpaint:
Certainly [Bill ()] is not going to be the Bill we know and love... He's going to have more bite, no pun intended.
After interviewing the showrunner, the magazine also reported that:
Following a season that dealt with more global issues (such as national vampire politics), Hudis wants to bring the action back to Bon Temps, the small Louisiana town that is home to the show's central characters, and focus on telling fewer stories with more characters (True Blood-ophiles might also be interested to know that Sookie and Jason will spend the year searching for Warlow, the vampire that Sookie has been promised to.)
Even fans of the books are left in the dark on this Warlow mystery but, that being said, there were still a few hints given about what type of creature Warlow might be. Having been able to present himself to Sookie, it's clear that Warlow has some kind of supernatural power, likely fairy. Combine that with the fact that we already know he's a vampire and there's a very good chance that Warlow is some kind of vampire-fairy hybrid. But what's his deal?
Judging by Hudis' words, it appears that in Season 6, Bill might not be the evil vampire God we were lead to believe he had become when Season 5 ended. And, with the adventures of Sookie () and Jason () we will finally meet Warlow. I'm sure that most of the True Blood fans will be pleased to learn that the series plans to spend this season in Bon Temps and have fewer storylines. However, the one thing I worry about is when Mark says above that there will be "more characters." Do we really need more characters to follow? Nope.
