The nominations for the 33rd annual Razzie's are out and it doesn't make pretty reading for Twilight fans. Despite raking in more than $800 million at the box office, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has been nominated for 11 awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Actress for and Worst Actor for . There were also nominations for Worst Supporting Actor for , Worst Supporting Actress for and Worst Director for . To round off the humiliation, it also nabbed nominations for Worst Ensemble Cast, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Couple and Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel. Ouch.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 was not a great movie, but was it really the worst movie of 2012? Some of the other movies in the category include Battleship, That's My Boy and the shockingly awful Eddie Murphy movie A Thousand Words. It may have been corny, but Twilight's heart was in the right place and it was a fun end to the series. Battleship on the other hand, was loud, dumb and had a script that felt like it took about 12 minutes to write.
I do agree with Taylor Lautner getting nominated for Worst Supporting Actor though. He is fast becoming the heir to Shia LaBeouf's crown of 'Least Charismatic Actor in Hollywood', and he portrays emotion by either taking his shirt off or by wearing a look on his face that suggests he's trying (and failing) to count up to 17.
