Another bearded, well-muscled man has jumped into the ring in the battle for Westeros, but how will this particular strongman fare in ? UFC fighter Conor McGregor — who has smashed competition even in different weight classes — has been cast in the next two seasons of Game of Thrones, Belfast Live reports:

"It’s been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of 'Game of Thrones.' He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the 'GoT' directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show."

The news was also relayed by Irish paper Sunday Life, who tweeted their front-page story on McGregor's role.

McGregor looks like he could easily take the part of a wildling, a Northman, or maybe one of Euron's salty seamen in the Iron Fleet. Who will this tough guy unleash his Gogoplata on?

As it happens, there's footage of Conor McGregor facing off against Icelandic enormo-man Hafþór Julius Bjornsson in a friendly spar (well, it would hardly have been fair if Bjornsson was in his full FrankenMountain armor, would it?)
