Now, where have I heard that before? It's a game we play many times when, for example, we watch trailers that recycle scores from previous films. However, recently there has been a lot of noise made over the theme music for a popular sporting event, and how much it resembles an iconic horror film score.

Brought to light by the blog MMABoom, the theme music that plays at the opening of UFC fight cards does sound eerily like 's score for Saw, namely the memorable theme song "Hello Zepp." The two selections are available below for your consideration.

I don't disagree that these two pieces of music sound almost exactly the same, and in fact I do think UFC is actually using and remixing the Saw theme. That being said, I am not ready to jump on the "they're ripping off Saw" bandwagon. Professional sports has been using popular music to promote events for as long as those two things have been things. And they pay for it. For all the rabble-rousing on this situation, not one person has bothered to question whether UFC paid to license the music and just didn't report such to every single MMA blog.

If it comes to light that Clouser was never paid for the use of his music, then I will gladly take up arms with the rest of the web. Til then, not sure there's much to get upset about.

What do you guys think?
