Even the undead can't handle weather THIS bad!

Preparing for the epic winter storms heading in Atlanta, Georgia's direction, production on both The Vampire Diaries and its supernatural spin-off The Originals has been shut down.

THR are reporting that:

The CW's The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, both of which film in Atlanta, will remain dark Wednesday due to a winter storm that will pass through the northern part of the metropolitan area.

When will these vamps sink their fangs back into work? Luckily, so far, the two TV series are expected only to miss one day of production each.

Both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals are in the middle of shooting their 18th episode of the season and for The Vampire Diaries this meant Paul Wesley - who plays Stefan Salvatore on the show - had to take a break from his debut directing duties.

It's a good thing they decided to put production on hold for a bit - I would be distraught if anything happened to Paul, Ian Somerhalder, or Nina Dobrev! Wouldn't you?

Catch the next episode of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, February 27 at 8 P.M. ET on The CW.
