It's summertime and the living is easy. Rather too darn easy, if you ask me. After the usual influx of superhero/action fodder, cinemagoers' brains are slowly but surely turning into mush.
But wait! What's that on the horizon? Could it be a cerebral double-crossing terrorist thriller, filmed in the same muted grey/brown hues as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy? Could it be a political flick that refuses to talk down to its viewers, a la Homeland? Does it feature versatile Aussie (Hulk, Black Hawk Down, Troy, Star Trek), now recast as a thinking woman's crumpet?
Why, yes! Closed Circuit stars and Eric Bana as hotshot lawyers and ex-lovers who must defend a man accused of a bombing in the UK. They soon discover that nothing's as it seems and find that the man is either a terrorist, or alternatively, was working undercover for the UK government to help them catch other terrorists. The mind boggles!
The film doesn't come out until 28th August, but check out the trailer below. Does it look all sorts of exciting to you or plain old yawnsville? Drop me a line in the comments below:
