truly is a world of its own within the greater universe. It's often the only film of the franchise appreciated by non-superhero fans, and has been acclaimed both by critics and audiences for its unique brand of humor and ability to bring an unknown bunch of characters back from the dusty shelves of the great Marvel comic book library.

Chris Pratt shines as Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord, a badass but often clueless opportunist who was mysteriously plucked from the surface of the Earth before he even hit puberty. But everyone will agree that the real highlight of the movie is , a human-shaped tree with barely a few words to his vocabulary: "I am Groot. We are Groot."

So when the trailers for started dropping, it was clear that the star of the sequel was Baby Groot, an adorable creature who emerged from the rubble to form the tiny dancing branch we couldn't get enough of at the end of the first movie. We've heard that he's reckless and excited, and we know we'll already forgive him all his mishaps simply because he's too damn cute.

Vin Diesel Thinks A Solo Groot Movie Is 'Inevitable'

Can we expect a Groot solo movie soon, then? If you ask , who voices the friendly tree, absolutely. On tour for his latest explosion-packed action flick, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, the actor obviously got a few questions about the future of his Marvel character. From what he tells MTV, it seems like a Groot-focused movie is not only a possibility, it's one he's already discussed with director :

"It's something that James Gunn has talked about, and something that I know he'd love to do. Sure, I think it could be very interesting. I think it's inevitable, I think, ya know, that character's so enigmatic. He was already one of the most unique characters in the Marvel Universe, and I think what Marvel has done, primarily what James Gunn has done to realize that character has exceeded anyone and everyone's expectations."

It's true we don't know much about Groot's character or his origins, so there's still plenty to say. Diesel says he's eager to go more in-depth with him, and unveil part of the mystery that surrounds him.

"He's such an interesting character, and there's so much to learn about him, and you know he, I'd love to go back to his planet and learn more about him and I think the world would. He's really a genius on a lot of levels, just we can only hear him say "I Am Groot" because of our sophistication level, not his."

Seeing the galaxy from Groot's perspective must be something else — and just imagine the endless merchandising possibilities if Marvel Studios introduces another talking tree.
