The filming of Fast and Furious 7 was suspended due to the death of Paul Walker on November 30. Fans have been wondering what is going to happen with the 7th instalment of the franchise without its beloved lead character. The film was originally scheduled for July 11, 2014, but now has shared the new date with the fans in a Facebook post. He posted the picture below, of himself and on the set of Furious 7, on Sunday night with the message:

Since Walker was in the middle of filming when the tragic car accident happened, some of his key scenes were still missing. It seemed likely that Fast 7 starts over from scratch, since the situation basically left The Universal Pictures with two options. Either they re-shoot the whole movie without Walker's character, Brian O’Conner, or they could use a a body double for the actor and use special effects to put Walker's face on him. It has also been rumoured that Walker's younger brother Cody, a stuntman, might be used as this body double to film the missing scenes, and complete Brian O'Conner's story.

Now, THR has confirmed that Walker's already shot scenes will indeed feature in the movie. Director and writer (who took over the franchise from ) are working on a new storyline to write O'Conner's character out of the film, so that Paul Walker could retire from the franchise by using the already filmed footage.

Besides Walker and Diesel, the seventh Fast film was to star other franchise regulars, like , , and .
