With Fast & Furious 6 currently racing toward theaters, it's easy to forget has some more action epics in the works. No, I'm not talking about Riddick, I'm talking about xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. Yeah, you remember that franchise? Well, it's still going.

We haven't heard much about the new xXx for quite some time. The last we heard, screenwriters John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris were penning the script. Well, it looks like said script has finally reached Vin Diesel via producer Joe Roth. He took to Facebook to give us all his opinion. He said:

I read a treatment over the weekend to a new gritty XXX, that was sent by my friend Joe Roth... WOW! P.s. Why is it that when ever you all start with your digital art forecasting... something practical in Hollywood follows. Haha.

Haha! Oh yeah Vin, I hate it when that happens! That old frustrating digital art forecasting. Anyway, a 'gritty' xXx does sound like an improvement. The franchise, which started out pretty ridiculously, reached its height of stupidity in xXx: The State of the Union. Luckily, Vin remained untainted by this travesty, as he had the foresight to ditch the role. Instead waded into the action.

Hopefully, with Vin Diesel back onboard and a new and improved script, xXx might just retake its place in the action movie Hall of Legends.

What do you think? Are you glad to see this series revived, or do you wish it had melted away with Ice Cube? Let us know below.
