Watch the 3-minute Olympics preview for Unbroken below:

Wowzers. The preview for Angelina Jolie's war movie brings out the heavy guns early. A voice-over by Tom Brokaw, a well-chosen airing spot during the Olympics and, most importantly, little speech clips of the source of all the inspiring, Louis Zamperini all ensure that we don't forget that Unbroken is important and has an inspirational message ("if you can take it, you can make it").

It's perhaps a bit much.

Nevertheless, if anything has ever deserved to be called inspiring, it is Louis Zamperini’s story. And a screenplay co-written by the Coen brothers and cinematography by the genius that is Roger Deakins are very good premises indeed.

Here’s hoping Jolie's film turns out to be the beautiful inspiring epic it so desperately wants to be!

Unbroken will be released in theaters Christmas Day.
