It was announced at TIFF that 's debut, Shivers, is getting remade. According to Variety, the Shivers remake will be produced by Jeff Sackman and Michael Baker and will be directed by Human Zoo's . The movie is reportedly being written by , who has worked on the cult hit Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter and Smash Cut.

The producers are saying that the film will tackle "a post-HIV world, where people interact through screens rather than skin, the parasite breaks down those digital barriers." The original film tackled Cronenberg's obsession with body horror, specifically by having parasites invade people and spread through sex.

Does this remake sound appealing to you guys? Personally, I'm all for remaking some of Cronenberg's lesser known works, but if they continue to touch classics like Videodrome, I will not be happy.
