Scream fans love the stalk-and-slash killings of ghostface, but will that swift dispatch be so popular if it puts the kibosh on the franchise?
In a recent interview at the Zurich Film Festival, slammed Scream 4 for being too namby-pamby about killing off the cast. He's determined to persuade his brother (and head of Dimension Films) to bring buckets of blood to Scream 5:
Everyone lived in 'Scream 4'. I'm begging him to do the movie and just end it. We've milked that cow.
Even though I love the Scream movies to death, I have to say that I agree with Weinstein. Scream 4 was great fun for a few laughs at the movie theater, but it'll be hard to wring any more thrills from the series without some major main-cast deaths.
What do you think, horror fans? Was four too many, or should Sidney, Dewey and Gale battle it out against legions of ghostfaces forever?
