A bit of casting news from our friends over at Digital Spy: Veteran comedy actress Wendy McLendon-Covey (Bridesmaids, Reno 911!) has been cast in Showtime's upcoming drama Masters of Sex.

McLendon-Covey will play doctor Lilian DePaul, main rival to 's sexologist Virginia Johnson. The show follows Johnson and her partner, William Masters (played by the talented ) and is based on the book Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, The Couple Who Taught America How to Love by Thomas Maier.

2013 will be a busy year for McLendon-Covey, who cast in 's new comedy pilot for ABC earlier this year.

Masters of Sex will debut on Showtime later this year.
