Blade star was released from a federal prison in Pennsylvania on Tuesday after serving two-and-a-half years behind bars for tax evasion, reports the Associated Press. He will be kept under house arrest and will be overseen by the New York Community Corrections Office until July 19th.
Snipes belonged to a group that challenged the government's right to charge taxes, which ended up costing him his freedom after he failed to file returns for over a decade and owed millions of dollars in unpaid taxes. He fought the law and the law won.
At the time of his conviction Snipes was filming vampire western Gallowwalkers and that movie will now get a theatrical release later this year. There've also been rumors linking him with The Expendables 3, which let's be honest, would just about be the coolest thing to happen in the history of action movies.
Now that he's a free man once again, what movies would you like to see Snipes sign up for? Drop your suggestions in the comment below.
