As if movie news hasn't been fantastic enough already, for and Lucasfilm, it just keeps on getting better. Fresh off her scene-stealing performance in HBO's critically-acclaimed Westworld, it appears Thandie Newton has already targeted her next move into another grand sci-fi adventure.

The actress is reportedly in talks to join the Star Wars universe in the anthology film based on the early life of Han Solo, our infamous smuggler and decorated Rebellion hero. The film, currently under production as "Red Cup," already boasts an all-star cast that consists of as the titular hero, as Lando Calrissian, as Han's mentor, and the Mother of Dragons herself, .

The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing the feature, due out in 2018.

It was recently announced that Fleabag star, Phoebe Waller-Bridge is also in talks for an unknown key role in the film. The role that Newton is in talks for was not released with the report, though that hasn't stopped this fan from speculating who the Crash actress might be playing.

Those familiar with the no-longer-canon history of the Star Wars universe will remember that in the Marvel Star Wars comics, a woman by the name of Sana Starros was introduced into the vast expanse of the space opera's history. She would later on reveal herself as the wife of .

Though the comics also revealed that Han and Sana only married as a scam in order to pull off a robbery, she tracked him down across the galaxy after he made off with her share of the profits. It's likely, if and Disney are going with this route, that part of film's story will revolve around the relationship between the pair before and maybe even slightly after their ill-fated partnership.

As these stories are no longer canon, it does leave the character and her fate wide open to interpretation. This could easily be used to explain the age difference between the actors and where she was during the years spanning the original trilogy films. Again, this is all complete (but totally cool) speculation. could be playing virtually any character. The sky isn't even the limit on this one. Under Disney, the Star Wars universe will continue to expand and that leaves the door open for a limitless amount of possibilities for bold new characters and exciting adventures like with what we've come to expect following that breathtaking spectacle that was Rogue One.

Whatever the role, I expect nothing but the best from this match made in sci-fi heaven.

Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently slated to hit theaters on May 28, 2018.
