's Pacific Rim made Kaiju all the rage this summer, and now - having had a great deal of success bringing his own mutants to the big screen - X-Men: Days Of Future Past director is getting in on the craze.

According to Deadline, Syfy has put into development Creature at Bay, a 90-minute pilot for a potential monster series which hails from Singer and his production company Bad Hat Harry Productions.

The drama will be written by , co-creator of Warner Bros.' award winning sci-fi digital series H+. Rather than battle giant monsters a la Pacific Rim, Creature at Bay will take place in the wake of the US military taking down a giant Kaiju off the coast of Northern California:

A middle-management Undersecretary from the California Emergency Management Agency is charged with leading the clean-up efforts as the small town becomes the focus of the entire world.

It sounds like an awesome solution for TV, I can tell you that. I'm imagining a small town with a giant dead Kaiju somewhere in every shot while life tries to move forward... What are your first thoughts?
