They hosted the most well-received Golden Globes ceremony for years, and now it seems that NBC and DCP want and back. The pair were universally popular with viewers and critics, effortlessly whipping out a stream of humdingers that kept the audience in stitches. Here's a little reminder:
The offer is, at present, no more than an informal invitation to reprise their hosting duties, but Fey and Poehler's return would certainly be beneficial to the Golden Globes in the ratings race. Their ceremony drew almost 20 million viewers, notching up a 17% audience increase.
A comedy pairing like Fey and Poehler are not easy to secure. 30 Rock star and creator Tina Fey has several comedy projects already in the pipeline, and Poehler is still starring and producing more Parks and Recreation in addition to her movie work.
However, the Golden Globes have always been a bit of a free range event for hosts and would possibly only hold the comedy duo to a couple of weeks of work. And really, how much persuasion would you need to be get a ton of laughs at the notoriously boozy gig?
