topped the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night, nabbing gongs for Favorite Movie Actress, Favorite Face of Heroism and Favorite Onscreen Chemistry, alongside and . The Hunger Games also took home awards for Favorite Movie, Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Movie Franchise, despite stiff competition from superhero blockbusters The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises.

The People's Choice Awards is voted for by the public and I have to say, I'm kind of surprised that The Hunger Games cleaned up. I really enjoyed the movie, but was it really better than The Dark Knight Rises? I'm not so sure. Lawrence definitely deserves her awards though. In my opinion, she's the best actress working in the business at the moment, consistently bringing depth and nuance to her performances and starring in movies as diverse as Winter's Bone and X Men: First Class. I hope she's got a large shelf at home, because there's going to be a lot more awards coming her way in the future.

It's been a pretty spectacular January so far for Lawrence. In addition to sweeping the People's Choice Awards, she's also garnered a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her role as Tiffany in the excellent Silver Linings Playbook. With The Hunger Games: Catching Fire due to hit later this year, 2013 could well be her year.
