This article contains huge spoilers from Season 3 of How To Get Away With Murder.

The third season of ABC's hugely popular drama How To Get Away With Murder caused quite a stir back in September when they initiated a storyline that would culminate in the death of a main character. After months of fan deliberation over which beloved character would bite the dust, it was revealed in the mid-season finale that Wes "Waitlist" Gibbens was the unfortunate soul that was , losing his life in a grisly fire at Annalise Keating's house.

However, we hadn't learned just who was responsible for the death of one of the show's most essential characters and when the show returned to in January, it became clear that this mystery was about to be solved.

The two hour season finale finally delivered on all fronts, giving us the answers that we so desperately craved. Moreover, it also featured standout performances from Viola Davis and Jack Falahee, both of who have proven their worth time and again this season. Davis may be nominated for her performance in at the Oscars this Sunday, but watching her each week on How To Get Away With Murder is like watching an acting masterclass and she's definitely a shoe-in for an Emmy nomination this year. Of course, the most important part of the finale was the revelation — we now know who killed Wes. Dare to take a look? Continue reading.

Since the mid-season premiere episode, has spent a lot of time showing the viewers what each member of the "Keating Four" were up to on the night of Wes' death. Going into the finale, I think we were all pretty concerned that one of them might be the killer — the writers have done a fantastic job at giving Connor, Michaela and Asher the motive and after all the death we've seen in the past three seasons, they're definitely capable. However, this wasn't any old victim — it was their friend and would any of actually be capable of killing Wes? Thankfully, the answer is no, at least not intentionally anyway.

This time, the members of the Keating Four were innocent — none of them were responsible for the death of Wes. However, it was revealed that Connor found Wes unconscious in Annalise's basement and, after many failed attempts at reviving his friend, he accidentally cracked Wes' rib. As this show is called How To Get Away With Murder, viewers were pretty quick to assume that this was not related to Wes' death — he was murdered and the killer's identity was what we were dying to find out.

And The Killer Is...

The two hour finale cleverly kept us guessing, waiting until the latter half of the second episode to answer the questions we were all dying to know. The storylines took multiple twists and turns during the final two episodes of Season 3 as the D.A's investigation into Annalise quickly started to fall apart and the Keating Four put their heads together to find out what happened to Wes.

While Laurel, Connor, Michaela, Asher or even Annalise may never know exactly how their friend died, viewers were given an exclusive inside opportunity as the show flashed back to the night of Wes' death and it was revealed that a man named Dominic — an old friend of Laurel's family — was responsible for Wes' death and the whole murder was orchestrated by Laurel's father, Jorge. Not the killer you expected, huh? Us neither. Either way, it's going to open up a whole can of worms when the show returns in the fall.

Now that the Keating Four know that they are not responsible for Wes' death, perhaps they can go back to being friends. While it's true that there has always been some sort of tension among the law students, Season 3 found them at each other's throats a lot more than usual and some of them resorted to finger pointing. Hopefully this resolution will allow Laurel to move on and perhaps start a new life with her baby?

Jorge's involvement in Wes' death will no doubt be revealed in the most dramatic way possible and who know's, perhaps Annalise and her students will make this killer their next cover-up murder? Either way, Annalise has accepted that Wes was more to her than just a student — he was her family, her son. If she finds out that Jorge was the man responsible then she'll definitely make him pay.

The conclusion of How To Get Away With Murder means that ABC's line up will be missing its newest addition for several months, but there'll be plenty of drama in Grey's Anatomy and Scandal to tide you over until the fall. HTGAWM was recently renewed for a fourth season and, judging from the third season finale, Season 4 could be the most explosive season yet. The charges against Annalise may have been dropped but the war is only just beginning. With Dominic coming face to face with Laurel in the final moments of this week's finale, things are set to get much worse for the Keating Four when the show returns next season.

Did you correctly predict Wes' killer?
