With great superhero movies comes the great responsibility of delivering big moments, and Spider-Man: Homecoming definitely delivered when the film finally swung its way onto the big screen last month. However, one series of moments strikes a chord that's much more peculiar than great. Why would Tony go all the way to India to attend a wedding that he clearly doesn't care about? Well, there might just be a logical explanation for that.

Tony's visit to India didn't quite fit in with the rest of Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, looking at the bigger picture and throwing a few other franchise films into the mix might offer up some perspective.

Why Would Tony Stark Visit India?

Tony's visit to India had nothing to do with the wedding. He was on a different mission and used the wedding as a cover for his presence in India. The real reason Tony went on the journey was to look for his "science bro" Bruce Banner, who abruptly disappeared near the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Tony has no clue about his friend's whereabout and is not supposed to know that The Hulk has been hanging out with his "friend from work," Thor.

The events in Spider-Man: Homecoming take place just two months after Captain America: Civil War. After a falling out with Rodgers, and with Rhodes being paralyzed, Tony would undoubtedly be in a desperate need for a partner in (fighting) crime. If Tony is looking for Banner for help, India would be a good place to start.

Back in the opening scenes of The Avengers, Black Widow brought Banner back from his hideout. It was revealed that Banner had been hiding from the rest of the world in Kolkata, a city in the eastern region of India. Maybe Tony went back there to look for him, but another unanswered question still remains.

Why Would Tony Use The Wedding As A Cover?

Tony Stark was one of the Avengers who signed the Sokovia Accords. That means he's required to operate under the supervision of a United Nations panel. Tony is bound by the laws of the Sokovia Accords, and a mission to go find a green raging monster would definitely not go over well with the panel. If Tony went to a country outside of the US without a valid reason, it would raise quite a few eyebrows. Hence, Tony must have used the wedding as a distraction so that he could get on with his actual mission.

That being said, it is also worth noting that finding Hulk and Thor would be high on General Ross's priority list. In Civil War, we hear Ross utter the following words:

"Tell me Captain, do you know where Thor and Banner are right now? If I misplaced a couple of 30 megaton nukes, you can bet there'd be consequences."

It's possible that the UN sent Tony on a mission to look for one of the "30 megaton nukes" in his previous hideout, with the wedding as a cover for the actual mission.

Marvel fans won't have to wait for long; however, to see Stark and Banner back together. The science bros will be back again in full force in Avengers: Infinity War, which is set to hit theaters on May 4th, 2018.

Tony Stark journeying all the way India just for a wedding doesn't quite add up. In Homecoming, we saw that Stark was moving into the Avengers compound. With Captain America no longer in charge of things, Stark would look to take over. At such an important of point of time, would Tony really go on random globe-trotting trips if he didn't have an ulterior motive?
