Fact: Iron Man kicks ass. Based on the last Iron Man 3 trailer, however, it looks like he might be facing something a little bit more challenging than he's used to. So, why doesn't he just call his superpower posse, The Avengers, to help him? Marvel Studios headman Kevin Feige laid it out during a roundtalbe with /Film:
The audience kind of accepts that there are times when they’re on their own and there are times when they are together. I’m betting that movie audiences will feel the same way. That being said, there is a little bit of lip service here and there to that.
Hmm. Makes sense to me. He frames this comment within the experience of being a comic reader and tacitly accepting the idea that comic characters at times act alone and other times are part of their respective teams. Though honestly, people, this movie is called Iron Man 3, not Iron Man 3 with the Avengers. We'll be going to the theater to see Tony Stark suit up and deal with sh!% his way. Looks like it's going to get pretty personal too, if the Mandarin's "This is the first day of what's left of your life" has anything to do with it.
Do you think Iron Man should've called in the Avengers to help out? Let me know in the comments.
