The image doesn't hint at who or what they're looking at, but we can assume Flash, Batman, and Wonder Woman are all looking at the same thing. Though, the absence of Cyborg and Aquaman is notable when an image of the entire Justice League assembled, sans was revealed in late 2016.

Could They Be Looking At A New Villain, Steppenwolf, Or Possibly Superman?

The reason why Superman is brought into question here is the mystery surrounding his presence on the set of Justice League. Despite seeing a full behind-the-scenes set video of Justice League during filming, not one image of Superman () is in the footage, nor has a single image of Superman in action been seen.

Where Is Superman In All The Action Of Justice League Part One?

The only image of Henry Cavill's Superman was revealed in the first poster for Justice League Part One. Since then, Superman is nowhere to be found. His absence could be due to a major reveal coming up, or possibly left up until the premiere of the film.

There was an indication of Superman's suit undergoing a massive change for the upcoming film when a tweet from Henry Cavill teased us with a partial image below, but Zack Snyder, director of Justice League Part One, hasn't commented on the matter.

With those things in mind, Superman's absence in the promotional material so far of Justice League Part One could be due to a surprising change being made to Superman's suit or some other trait that will distinguish the new Superman from his previous appearances in Man Of Steel and Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Is There Something Different About Superman?

We should also expect a different Superman after he apparently died during Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

So, keeping in mind that he's returning in Justice League Part One after being resurrected, there's a good chance Superman could appear drastically different from how we last saw him in BvS: Dawn Of Justice. If so, his absence from the promotional material so far can be easily explained.

Considering how Superman's appearance in Justice League Part One could believably be different from his appearance in BvS: Dawn Of Justice, Superman's new appearance could also give away major spoilers for the film.

It's not like Superman can just rise from the grave without repercussions. There are several examples of Superman rising from the grave and coming back a changed man, so the same could believably take place with Superman in Justice League Part One.

Any changes made to Superman's appearance would likely be subtle, but any set images that provide even a slight glimpse at Superman (Henry Cavill) might be enough to spoil one of the side-plots in the film that involves Superman's resurrection and it's toll on him.

Either way, it'll be interesting to find out why all the secrecy around Superman. Nothing has been said of a change to his character in Justice League Part One, and the initial image of Superman standing alongside the rest of the league doesn't indicate any major changes. However, this doesn't eliminate the possibility of Superman taking on a varied appearance at some point in Justice League Part One.
