We know there will be two characters definitely returning from the Marvel Cinematic Universe for television's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and they are Agent Phil Coulson (the fan-beloved , who has created something of a cult following for himself), and Agent Maria Hill ( in a less integral, but equally ass-kicking role). Other than that, the cast and crew have been pretty lock-lipped on whether or not we'll be seeing any other familiar faces from the Avengers ensemble making cameo appearances, with all but telling fans not to hold their breath.

But as with most things Tony Stark/ (they are one and the same at this point), in the infamous words of Cartman, whatever, he'll do what he wants, at least according to his recent comment to EW:

You know what? There’s no telling. I am open to everything.

Just a quick and ambiguous comment there, but it's rather interesting in light of the recent news that he's in the middle of renegotiating his contract with Marvel. Might that newly-revised contract include room for a few appearances on the television series? Or even a whole story arc? We'll have to wait a while to find out...or maybe not.

Marvel, the masters of subterfuge both on and off screen.

[[follow]] along and as soon as any news drops for S.H.I.E.L.D., we'll let you know.
