(WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Season 2, Episode 15 of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. So, if you haven't watched the episode yet, go watch it and then come back. You have been warned.)

Ever since, aired for the first time back in 2012, Tommy Merlyn has been a fan-favorite character. Tommy died in the Season 1 finale and there are still a lot of fans of the show who are still not over Tommy's death. After that, Colin Donnell has appeared on Arrow a few times as Tommy. Having moved on to Chicago Med, Colin has failed to appear on Arrow or any other shows of the since. However, it seems like things might change next week.

Don't expect Tommy to be reunited with Oliver on Arrow, however. Tommy could be making his long-awaited return on next week's episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Towards the very end of this week's episode of , we saw that Mick Rory, along with Eobard Thawne, Malcolm Merlyn, Leonard Snart and Damien Darhk (a.k.a. Legion of Doom) alter reality with the help of the Spear of Destiny. If the promo for next week's episode is indication, DC's Legends of Tomorrow is going to get a Flashpoint scenario of their own.

Eobard Thawne seems to back at S.T.A.R. Labs as its owner. The Firestorm duo, Martin Stein and Jefferson Jackson, are also working at S.T.A.R. Labs, with Stein working under Jackson. The genius billionaire Ray Palmer, who's also the founder and former C.E.O. of Palmer Technologies, is now a janitor at S.T.A.R. Labs.

On the Star City side of things, we get a look at Damien Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn at the Mayor's office, which belongs to Oliver Queen on Arrow. Sara Lance and Amaya are now working for Darhk. However, it is unclear from the promo what changes have been made to Rip Hunter, Mick Rory, Leonard Snart and Nate's lives.

With the Spear of Destiny, two of the initial trio of the Legion of Doom, Thawne and Darhk, wanted to change their future — a future where they don't end up dying. Merlyn however, wanted to change his past. Could the change in Malcolm's past see Tommy brought back to life?

At PaleyFest, Andrew Kreisberg revealed that there would be a surprise cameo in the penultimate episode of the season:

"I will call it a surprise crossover. No one knows this because we’ve kept it under wraps, but there’s a surprise cameo, surprise crossover moment in the penultimate episode of 'Legends.'"

With next week's episode being the penultimate episode of the season, Tommy's appearance could well be the "surprise cameo" that Kreisberg was referring to. With Malcolm being back in Star City in the alternate reality, Tommy's return seems to be lining up perfectly.

Do you think Tommy Merlyn will make a return to the Flarrowverse next week? Will you be excited to see him if it does end up happening? Let us know in the comments section down below.
