Stick with me here. If you were a gambling addict and a stranger left a big bag of money at your apartment, what would happen? You’d probably do what New Girl’s Jake Johnson does: try to ignore it for a while, but ultimately succumb to the temptation of throwing some of that green around town. Just a few bucks here and there, you’d say, and then months later you’re screwed.

Joe Swanberg directs Johnson in Win It All, a gritty little crime drama from . Swanberg started out in ultra-low-budget films, but has done some great stuff as he’s moved up to comparatively larger movies. (Which are still tiny compared to a studio juggernaut.)

Check out the first Win It All trailer:

Here Swanberg recruits a cast including Keegan-Michael Key of Key & Peele, Joe Lo Truglio, of every great comedy in the last decade, and Aislinn Derbez, a star in Mexico who is starting to break out in the States.

This is how Netflix describes the story:

Jake Johnson (New Girl) stars as small time gambler Eddie Garrett, who agrees to watch a duffel bag for an acquaintance who is heading to prison. When he discovers cash in the bag, he’s unable to resist the temptation and winds up deeply in debt. When the prison release is shortened, Eddie suddenly has a small window of time to win all the money back.
