It is a quest that many have attempted but few have mastered: the transformation of a popular video game into a movie that doesn't bore movie lovers to death. But now, Moon and Source Code director is taking up the challenge after signing on to adapt a big-screen take on popular online fantasy game Warcraft...

And now we have word that the planned movie - set in a universe in which goblins, trolls, elves and humans exist alongside zombies, werewolves, and even aliens! - looks like it might FINALLY be before the cameras in January! Check out this nugget of new information from Production Weekly's Twitter.

Awesome! On the grounds of Duncan Jones alone, I'm interested to see this ultra-fantasy take on the Warcraft games. Not only that, but if this movie and next year's Guardians of the Galaxy movie both meet expectations, then that'll probably help to open the floodgates for more fantastical projects - which were previously thought to be to outlandish - to make the jump to theaters... Bring on January 13!

With that date set, we can expect to hear some news on casting very soon, so stay close. In the meantime, tell me your thoughts on this project as it stands, in the comment section below!
