Great news, Earthlings! An alien invasion that hit LA recently has been captured on tape.

Sadly for alien enthusiasts, it was part of a viral marketing take on the Man of Steel alien invasion by those cheeky chappies at Movieclips.com. The two minute video opens on three bloggers preparing to review the The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug trailer. They're all set, until there's a loud noise and the room starts shaking. Their computer screens all show the same image: Zod's You Are Not Alone message, and even when they try unplugging them, the same image shows - scary stuff!

The bloggers run out of the basement and into a larger warehouse with dozens more computers, all dominated by the same image. The handheld camera follows them into the street where their special effects team get to use up their budget for the year!

We're guessing Movieclips.com dropped serious dollar on their marketing campaign, but it must have already paid off - on the first day it was online it got over 115,000 views.

Check it out here and sound off in the comments below - brilliant? Or just a waste of money?
