Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain will be taking on the role of the villainess Lilandra in Dark Phoenix. This will come as no surprise to those of you who have been following the developments of X-Men: Dark Phoenix, as it was rumored earlier this year that Jessica Chastain was in talks to play Lilandra Neramani. Check out what Chastain had to say:
X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which will be directed by Simon Kinberg, reunites The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby co-stars #JamesMcAvoy and #JessicaChastain. Eleanor Rigby saw McAvoy and Chastain play a married couple whose relationship deteriorates following the death of their child. #DarkPhoenix will also mark a reunion for Jessica Chastain and X-Men: Apocalypse star Tye Sheridan. Chastain played mother to Sheridan in the 2011 film The Tree Of Life.
Jessica Chastain's first true role as a villain was playing Lucille Sharpe in Guillermo del Toro's 2015 gothic fantasy Crimson Peak. Being the versatile actress that she is, Chastain completely immersed herself into the cold, psychotic skin of Lucille. Although many argue whether or not she is a villain, Chastain will no doubt nail the role as Lilandra.
