Following the surprising announcement that Warner Bros. had chosen as their new Batman, I imagine some of you are inconsolably wracked with grief, confusion and possibly rage. If that is the case, then I have a feel-good news story that might go someway to helping lift you out of your existential funk.

The Wolverine and all-round good egg, , has lived up to his nice-guy image by donating $10,000 to the Montreal Children’s Hospital. The Montreal Gazette is reporting that Jackman, having spent the last few months filming X-Men: Days Of Future Past in the city, donated the cash after his wife encountered difficulty making the transaction online.

Kim Fraser, who works for the Foundation, revealed:

She [Deborra-Lee Furness] had tried to make the donation via her computer but the confirmation she got said that she had given $10 so she called us up. She wanted to make the donation on behalf of her, her husband, and the cast and crew of X-Men.

While Jackman was unable to visit the hospital in person, his credit card payment was approved and the substantial donation went through. He really is a super hero.

See, wasn't that a lovely story? Didn't you forget momentarily the horror that is Batfleck? What's that?... You can't forget?... It's seared onto your brain forever?... The inhumanity of it all?...Oh.
