The last time we saw Yara Greyjoy (played to perfection by Gemma Whelan) she was boldly setting sail with Daenerys Targaryen and her hordes to wreak righteous havoc on the Seven Kingdoms. The prevailing fan theory is that this leads to Yara diving into a massive sea battle against her vile uncle Euron in Season 7, which could explain Gemma Whelan's recent injury on set.

The cast have been holed up around Belfast to shoot many scenes from the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, and Gemma Whelan was injured on set badly enough to go to hospital, but well enough to find the humor in the situation. She Instagrammed a hilariously unglamorous pair of hospital underpants with the caption:

Ward Nurse: Would you like some underwear as you came into hospital a bit suddenly and underprepared?Me: Oh yes please that's so kind I really would thank you. Oh.

Can we infer from Gemma's injury that she was caught up filming a thrillingly action-packed scene? A giant sea battle for the ages? Or was the injury caused by something relatively minor — it's probably pretty slippy on the ground in that wild and windswept part of Westeros. Conjecture aside, let's wish Gemma Whelan a swift recovery. We love you, Gemma!
