As soon as Star Wars: Episode VII was announced, the internet was immediately inundated with casting rumors. If you believe all of them, then it looks like every actor and their mother has auditioned for a role in ' sequel.

However, thanks to some crafty interviewing tactics by MTV's Josh Horowitz, we know at least one of these rumors is true. While promoting his upcoming movie, That Awkward Moment, High School Musical star has revealed he has indeed met with Lucasfilm and Disney to audition for Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens. Interestingly, stayed noticeably quiet during that question, since he has also previously confirmed he auditioned for a role.

Now, I can imagine some of you aren't best pleased to know Disney prodigy and quintessential teen-girl crush, Zac Efron, could potentially be in your favorite movie franchise. But hear me out for a second. The dude isn't a bad actor, in fact in recent years he's moved away from happy-go-lucky corridor-based song-and-dance fests towards more dramatic stuff, such as The Paperboy, Parkland, and yes, even The Lucky One.

Sure, he starred in the High School Musical franchise, but if someone offered me a heap of crash to prance around all day and get off with , I'd probably do it too. Let's not hold it against him.
