Zac Efron is one of the more recognizable faces in the movie industry right now. His impressive resumé began by playing everyone's favorite heartthrob, Troy Bolton, in #Disney's beloved High School Musical trilogy. Thanks to his charm, talent and out-of-this-world good looks, Efron garnered a massive following.
That might make it hard for you to believe that, despite his awesomeness, the guy actually managed to break the heart of one of his biggest admirers: Paris Jackson.
Yes, you read that right. Paris Jackson recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During the interview, she was asked about her first concert. The actress stated that High School Musical Live was the very first concert she wanted to attend. And although she did get to see the show, there was one element from it that broke her heart: #ZacEfron...or lack thereof. Jackson revealed:
"[Zac Efron] actually wasn't there. I was so bummed, he wasn't there [...] He was busy filming when the tour was going on, so they had like some guy replace him. That was like, the most depressing part about it. He wasn't there and I was like, this heartbroken, 10-year-old.
But the biggest offense? According to her, the man that replaced Efron didn't even look like him.
Obviously, going to a concert to see your crush and him not being there can be understandably brutal, especially considering the fact that Troy Bolton was the heart of the HSM franchise.
But don't feel sad for Paris Jackson just yet, because Zac Efron just adorably apologized for that unfortunate experience. The actor attended CinemaCon to promote the upcoming #Baywatch, where he plays Matt Brody. There, E! News caught up with him and, of course, the subject of Jackson's story came up. Cue Efron turning on the charm:
"I'm so sorry. I'll make sure I'm on set next time... if you come to visit. And you should come to the 'Baywatch' premiere... or something."
Ok, that wasn't exactly what I would call the most heartfelt apology ever, but it doesn't take away its awesomeness. I mean, #ParisJackson's crush just apologized for disappointing her almost a decade ago, and to top it all off, he invited her to the premiere of his new movie. Does it get any better than that? Probably not.
