had a blank space. And she wrote Zayn's name.

It's been a while since we last heard from Taylor, but she's out of the woods and into the playlists of any self-respecting pop fan this morning with a new track from the soundtrack. The song is titled 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever,' which is good because nobody can, and it features 's less popular boyfriend, Zayn Malik.

Anyone who's followed 's solo career knows he's a shy and elusive bird who only rarely commits to things like making videos or performing in public, so this mind of mine was slightly blown by the news that he'd hooked up with former national treasure Tay-tay for a song that could literally be quite a big hit. Hey, a classic duet never goes out of style.

You can buy 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever' right now (it's already #1 on US iTunes) and stream it if you have Apple Music, but if like all other normal people you only use Spotify, you'll have to go without because Taylor and the streaming service still have bad blood. For now, check out the clip from Taylor's Instagram above.

Taylor wrote the song with her 1989 collaborator Jack Antonoff, and even if it's not quite a megabanger of epic proportions like Ellie Goulding's 'Love Me Like You Do' from the first movie's soundtrack, it's still quite a decent effort. Well done, Tay-tay, and good work on finally giving Zayn a hit.

Watch the new Fifty Shades Darker trailer below. It's (whisper it) quite good.

Did sparks fly when Taylor got creative with Zayn, or should they begin again?
