What does one do after starring in not one, but two of the most popular superhero movies out there? One gets the power to choose their next project. And so #ZoeSaldana, who plays the green-skinned Gamora in #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy and will return soon in Vol. 2 of the #Marvel favorite, has joined the cast of My Little Pony: The Movie.
Based on the extremely popular My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic series, the movie adaptation will be directed by the supervising director of the TV version himself, Jayson Thiessen, and is set to be released later on November 3, 2017.
'My Little Pony: The Movie' Boasts A Fantastic Cast
Saldana is now part of an impressive line-up including Kristin Chenoweth, Emily Blunt, Taye Diggs, Liev Schreiber, Sia, Uzo Aduba and Michael Peña, though there's no word yet on which characters they'll all play.
What's certain is that there'll be plenty of new creations for the movie, considering the main voice cast of the TV series — Andrea Libman, Tara Strong, Ashleigh Ball, Tabitha St. Germain and Cathy Weseluck — will be returning for the movie to voice the popular "Mane 6," the cool kids band of #MyLittlePony named Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity.

Hasbro has also revealed the first logo for the movie, as well as the main outline of the plot: When Ponyville is threatened, the Mane 6 join forces and leave Equestria to find a way to save their home. Their trip will take them further than they've ever been — and they'll make plenty of new friends along the way.
I hear Billy Bob Thornton will be pleased.
