The zombie virus might be contagious, and so is watching The Walking Dead on TV. This small screen "epidemic" seems to be impossible to prevent from spreading: This is the second consecutive week that AMC's The Walking Dead has beaten NBC's Sunday Night Football in the key 18-49 age audience demographics.

Quite a lot of people were interested in the last Walking Dead episode. As Deadline reports, it was the top-rated scripted show of Sunday night. The only program it could not completely beat out was: Sunday Night Football.

But! If we only look at the advertisement-wise important audience demographic age 18-49 (and why shouldn't we, since this is the key audience for these TV programs): The Walking Dead did indeed beat out the NFL.

The Sunday night football game had just over 15.4 million viewers, to The Walking Dead‘s 13.3 million, but the episode drew 8.7 million "in the demo," versus 8.1 million for football, which probably attracts an older demographic.

So, what about you? Do you turn on your TV for the zombies or the ballplayers on Sundays?
