There has been a lot of worry amongst Spidey-fans about the upcoming Amazing Spiderman movie. Concerns were raised over there being too many villains, characters added and cut, and over all how bad this could end up. I disagree, and here's why.
We know that Shailene Woodley's Mary-Jane has been cut from the second film. This is mainly because Marc Webb wants Gwen's death to be emotional, as it should be. Peter Parker should not be running off to another woman in the same movie his girlfriend dies. Mary-Jane being cut also gives more time for other things. It gives more time for Spidey to deal with the multiple villains. With the many characters, there needed to be some extra time to deal with everyone. Hopefully Marc Webb makes the best of it.
The second most promising element of this film is the star studded cast. There are a lot of big names in this movie, such as: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jaime Foxx, and Paul Giamatti. They're all great actors, and have valuable experience. They will do a fine job portraying the characters. Even if the plot isn't spectacular, the acting should be on point.
Finally, my third point: Hans Zimmer is likely to help compose the score. It is not official, but rumors are spreading. Journalist Aimée Castle tweeted this after an interview with Marc Webb:
So it isn't crazy to assume that Hans Zimmer will at least help out with the score. I know the score doesn't define how successful a movie will be, but a Zimmer soundtrack will certainly help. I love his creativity, so I'm looking forward to hearing it!
Remember, it's just my opinion, and I'd love to hear yours. Please comment! What do you think? Are there too many characters? Would you like to hear Hans Zimmer in this film?
