The posters for Alfonso Cuaron's (Children of Men) Gravity starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney have been exceptional in the way they depict a true sense of floating in the vacuum of space. The latest two add a tone of horror to the mix, of helplessness, of being truly lost and tumbling out of control, how life can be both personal and existential in a moment.

The Alien Ripley/Sigourney Weaver echo in the Sandra Bullock poster is effective in recalling the terror of space travel gone bad. The tag line: Don't Let Go tells everything one needs to know and yet hints at bigger themes-- of humanity needing to never let go in order to survive.
